Hornby Seminars For Teachers

The British Council-Hornby Seminars in English Language Teaching (ELT) are the British Council’s flagship programme in ELT, designed to make a difference in the way English is taught in classrooms in the Indian context. The seminars, held across all the four regions in North, East, West and South India, are six-day workshops. They are led by an experienced teacher-trainer, usually from the UK, and supported by a local resource person. Since the first Hornby Seminar held in India in the year 2000, Hornby has established its reputation as one of the most useful short-term professional development programmes for school teachers in English. The Hornby seminars are primarily funded by the Hornby Educational Trust, UK as part of its mission to enhance the skills of English teachers all over the world.
