About the Hornby Trust
The Hornby Seminars are run with the support of the A. S. Hornby Educational Trust. The Trust was established in 1961 by A. S. Hornby, popularly known for the Oxford Advanced Learner’s Dictionary.

Hornby Seminars
Hornby Seminars provide Scholarships for English Language Teaching (ELT) professionals who wish to study in the UK. Each year these seminars have enabled teachers to develop their expertise and upgrade their English teaching skills. In India and Sri Lanka, Hornby Seminars have been running since 2000 and have helped directly train over 1000 teachers, many of whom have cascaded the workshops to hundreds of teachers across the region.

Seminar Objectives

At the end of all Seminars, participants will receive a collated booklet of all the work and lesson plans that the group has produced so that activities can be tried in a realistic classroom setting.
