Customer journeys and the templates
How the templates work with your customer journeys

A customers' journey through your site will include various templates; each of these templates will offer a level of information that is appropriate to its place in this journey. Here we explain this journey and the levels of these templates.

What is a customer journey?
A customer journey is the route that a customer takes through the pages on a website to get answers to their questions.

How customer journeys work with the templates
The templates are designed to re-inforce our customer journeys and to help our users navigate to content that is relevant to their needs.

As a customer clicks on links, the templates present more information that helps them decide which route to take. As the journey progresses each template gives the customer more detailed information that either answers their question, points them to further sources of information or gives an instruction to a customer, a call-to-action, such as download an application form, e-mail our exams team or test your English online.

TEMPLATE HIERARCHY LEVELS
Every template has a specific role or function to play in a customer journey and they work as a part of a template hierarchy. Find out more about the template hierarchy and how to apply it to our websites.

SAMPLE CUSTOMER JOURNEYS
There are over 80 templates to choose from but most customer journeys rely upon three or four templates. See some examples of how customer journeys are constructed using different templates.

NAVIGATION AND CUSTOMER JOURNEYS
Our customer journeys, template hierarchy, and navigation work together to give our customers a consistent and straightforward experience when using our websites. Find out more about how the templates work with the customer journeys and navigation.

WRITING CUSTOMER JOURNEYS
Are you are looking for help with your writing? The writing for the web site can help us write content that works effectively with our templates. There's also a website that contains ready-made customer journeys that you can build into your website.
