Statement of intent

The statement of intent introduces the website to the customer.

Statement of intent

Statement of intent title
The title in the text slot is About us.  This can be linked to your About us page if required.  This text object already exists in the database in the global common group and is called global-common-title-about-us.  If you have a multilingual site you can supply the translation for the text object to web2004@britishcouncil.org.

Statement of intent for country websites
The statement of intent for country websites is mandatory.  There are four statements to chose from which can be found in the database in the global common group and are named global-common-statement-intent-1 (1-4). The statements have been signed off by Director Communications.

The four options for countries to select from are:

  1. We connect people with learning opportunities and creative ideas from the UK to build lasting relationships around the world.

  2. We can help you to study for a UK qualification, take an exam, develop your English skills, or connect with other professionals.

  3. We connect people across cultures with learning opportunities and creative ideas from the UK.

  4. We can connect you to UK education and English language learning with qualifications, courses and scholarships.

If you have a multilingual site you can supply the translation for the statement to web2004@britishcouncil.org.

Statement of intent for UK corporate websites
UK corporate websites should repurpose their existing introduction down to four screen lines. If help is needed with writing a statement of intent please contact John Myatt, Copy Editor, E-strategy and Development Team.
