Eligibility criteria

To go on an IAESTE placement you must be:

  • over the age of 19
  • a full time undergraduate student of science, engineering, technology or applied arts
  • in the second year of study or above 

For students applying from the UK, you also need to be a UK resident. 

You are considered a UK resident if you are:

  • an EEA national or
  • a non-EU national with British Citizenship verification

Unfortunately, you are not considered a UK resident if you are in the UK on a student visa. Overseas student need to visit IAESTE global site.

Do I need any foreign language skills?

English is the standard language requirement, any other languages are mostly optional but will be specified on the Job Offer if required.
