Opportunities for schools in the UK

The Connecting Classrooms programme which ran from 2008 to 2012 has ceased recruiting new schools, but the British Council will continue to provide support and advice to schools currently completing their grant activity until March 2014.

The British Council is committed to continuing to work with teachers, school leaders and policy makers to improve educational outcomes for young people and to help young people to develop the skills, understanding and outlook to work in a global economy and contribute responsibly to society.

In June this year, the British Council and Department for International Development will launch a new programme.

We will ensure that all schools involved in Connecting Classrooms are fully informed about the new programme and how it will impact on their activities.

For information about Connecting Classrooms, please email schools@britishcouncil.org or call +44 (0)161 957 7755.

Schools are advised to refer to British Council Schools Online to find a partner school and get up-to-date information about professional development, projects, resources and other support for global learning in schools.
