Home page standards

These pages will help you build your new homepage according to content and layout standards.  Before building your new home page please read our nine-step guide to help you make informed decisions about prioritising your web offer first.  The guide contains a Word version of the template that must be signed off in country or department and by the E-strategy and Development team before the template is released to you.

Each area of the new home page has a distinct purpose.  The seven areas of the template that you need to fill are:

Newsfeed
Statement of intent
Popular offers list
Campaign area
Top promotional area
Main promotional area
Sub promotional area

IMAGERY STANDARDS
The home page uses three new image sizes.  We have prepared guidance about the new images, their dimensions and filesizes, where they can be located in the database or who to contact if you want new images.  There is also advice on how to upload new images into the database for use on the home page.

BRAND CAMPAIGN GUIDANCE
There is also a guide to the brand campaigns that tells you more about the creative briefs behind the campaigns, how to make best use of them and how to recreate the campaigns locally.

If you have any queries about the home page template or brand campaigns please e-mail web2004@britishcouncil.org.
