This summer the British Council are hosting an exciting summer cultural programme in association with America’s Camp.

We have 10 places available for a group of 16 and 17 year olds from FDNY families to come to Oxford in England for 10 days in July 2009.
The specially designed programme will include:
- A trip to London with a tour of all the famous sights including the Tower of London and Buckingham Palace
- A tour of Oxford University campus, including Christchurch college which featured in a Harry Potter film
- A visit to Stratford-upon-Avon, the home of the great Shakespeare, with a performance of ‘As you like it’ and the chance to chat with the cast afterwards
- The chance to experience student life in the scenic and historic Oxford City, with accommodation in Oxford Brookes college which includes leisure facilities
Students will be accompanied by two highly experienced counsellors from America’s Camp and staff from the British Council will be present to support the students at all times during the programme.
Funding for the trip will cover most costs including visa and flights and accommodation and tuition for the Oxford programme.
To be eligible for this event, the applicants must be 16 or 17 years old, and from FDNY families who were affected by 9/11, and they must have attended America’s Camp.
All applications should be sent with the required documents and on the attached application forms, to America’s Camp by April 18th 2009.
