With the nationalised certificates candidates are able to apply for universities or for colleges or to prove their English knowledge to an employer.
According to the agreement with the Ministry of Education all candidates who send us an Application for Nationalisation are entitled to receive a state acknowledged certificate of English language. The administration and half of the cost of the nationalisation are covered by the British Council.
Candidates can make a very good use of this nationalised certificate when applying to universities in Hungary, they receive extra points at the entrance exam and also they can use the IELTS exam when they acquire a diploma from a higher education institution. To receive a state acknowledged certificate, candidates need to fill in an Application for Nationalisation and indicate which level they wish to have a Hungarian certificate.
The equivalence chart of the received levels can be found below.
| PRELIMINARY (B1) |

ADVANCED (C1) |

APPLICATION FOR NATIONALISATION
When the results are ready (13 days after the test), we send a mail to the candidates and also send the Application for Nationalisation document attached. After checking the results online, candidates can decide whether they need nationalisation. If they choose to have their certificates nationalised, they need to fill in the document electronically and send it back to exams@britishcouncil.hu together with the payment slip of 5000HUF. We will forward the applications to the Ministry of Education and will post the nationalised certificates to the candidates after the Ministry has sent us the document.
