The British Council has launched its first International English Language Testing System (IELTS) online registration system in Hong Kong. Candidates can now register any time, anywhere for an IELTS test on their preferred date, print the receipt and check their payment history online. To enhance opportunities to succeed, candidates registered with the British Council online registration system will receive an exclusive online preparation course called ‘Road to IELTS’ free. Registration and information about this newly launched system can be found at our IELTS website.
There are additional advantages of registering online. A candidate can use the system to check his or her result on the 13th day after the test. You can also apply for an additional Test Report Form to be sent to the receiving institutions. By logging on to your online account, you can check test arrangements (for example test venue, reporting time and speaking time slot) at any time.
Preparation for online registration
Before proceeding to registration, please have the following items available:
- A valid ID document or passport. On the test day, you must bring the same form of ID document that you indicate on your application form.
- Soft copy of your recent photograph. [Sample and specifications]

- A valid VISA card or MasterCard for online payment.
