The Chartered Institute of Management Accountants

The Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) Certificate in Business Accounting is an entry requirement to the CIMA Professional Qualification and a recognised qualification in its own right.  It will give you a solid grounding in the basics of management accounting and business skills.

Important Notice

Student will no longer be able to choose between the new and old syllabus for Paper C05b from 1st January 2009.   Starting from 1st January 2009, all students taking Paper C05b will be required to take CBA - Fundamentals of Ethics, Corporate Governance 2008.

How can I register for the CIMA CBA?

If you wish to register by post, please send the completed form together with a cheque made payable to "British Council" to: Examinations Services, British Council, 3 Supreme Court Road, Admiralty, Hong Kong.

Alternatively, registration can be made in person at the Customer Services Centre on the 3/F, British Council, 3 Supreme Court Road, Admiralty, Hong Kong.

We regret that we cannot accept cash at the Customer Services Centre.  We only accept EPS and credit cards.  

What is Computer Based Assessment (CBA)?

CBA uses the computer to examine students for each of the Foundation Level Papers.  The computer will mark the answers and add the total marks achieved with the results being given as an immediate pass or fail.

What CBAs are available at the British Council?

You can sit for the CBA Foundation Level Examinations and CIMA Professional Development-Certificate in Business Taxation at the British Council.

Certificates will be issued to successful candidates by post one week after the examination date.

We aim to do our best to cater for candidates with special needs.  We will do all we can to enable candidates to understand test questions and ways of giving answers.  All candidates, irrespective of their disability, will be assessed fairly and objectively.

Candidates who require special arrangements are asked to contact us before they submit their application.  Relevant supporting materials such as medical certificates should be submitted during registration.
