Young Learners
British Council Hong Kong offers a wide range of English Language courses for Young Learners.

These courses are

  • taught by a highly-qualified, experienced team of native / native level English-speaking teachers
  • designed and adapted to the specific needs of Hong Kong students
  • taught using a communicative methodology which makes learning fun as well as effective
  • available for all ages from 2 years 8 months to 18 years

Your child can study at one of a number of locations; either at our state-of-the-art facilities in Supreme Court Road, or one of our well-equipped centres in Kowloon or the New Territories.

Classroom teaching is supplemented with a range of activities including IT, art, drama and storybooks. These are integral parts of the syllabi, and stimulate learners to use the language studied in class.

Kindergarten Courses

These courses are for students aged 2 years eight months to 5 years. Available courses are:

  • Bright Start in English
  • Kindergarten 1
  • Kindergarten 2
  • Kindergarten 3

Primary Courses

These courses are designed for students studying in primary school grades Primary 1 to Primary 6.

Secondary General English

These courses are for secondary students at all levels who want to develop their overall ability to speak, listen, read and write in English.

Secondary Focus Courses

These courses are for secondary students at Intermediate level wanting to develop specific aspects of English. Available courses are:

  • Writing and Grammar
  • Listening and Speaking

Local Exams Courses

These specially designed courses are for form 5, 6 and 7 students who are preparing for the HKCEE and HKALE examinations.
