If you want to combine developing your language competency with a focus on exam techniques and skills, then this 48-hour course is ideal for you. This course introduces and practises the language skills and exam techniques for both the General Training and Academic IELTS exams.
Our qualified and experienced teachers will use a variety of resources to keep the course interesting and provide you with thorough exam preparation.
During the course, you will practise all the main skills you need for IELTS, i.e. reading, listening, speaking and writing. Your teacher will tell you how the IELTS test actually works, suggest exam strategies and give you advice on how to prepare for the questions. The course will introduce you to a wide range of study skills and you will also revise and practise major language points so that your vocabulary and language continue to improve while you prepare for the exam.
For further details, please refer to the course outlines.

The course aims to help you:
- practise the language and vocabulary specific to the exam
- develop an awareness of common topics and question types.
To register for your first British Council adult course you will need to take a placement test to assess your current level of English. A course counsellor will then help you select the course most suited to your needs and English level.
