Before you register for the course, you have to do a placement test, which places you in one of eight levels. These levels correspond to those specified by the Common European Framework for Languages, which describes language ability at each level. They are based on over ten years of research by leading linguists and pedagogical specialists.
This table describes language ability at each of the six CEF reference levels. In the table below you can see how Workplace English Level 4 relates to the CEF and HKVEP levels.
