  • develop exam strategies to maximise your potential
  • identify your strengths and areas for development

Course Objectives

Be better able to:

  • identify and understand key information in listening extracts
  • skim and scan reading texts to find the required information
  • present information and structure your writing (task 1)
  • analyse the question, balance your views and organise your writing (task 2)

Course Content

The course book is Step Up to IELTS. Your teacher will select the most relevant material from the book and supplement it to make lessons relevant and stimulating.

You will also have free access to our self-study centre on the 3rd floor of our Admiralty centre. It contains a variety of materials, including CD-ROMs, videos, audiotapes and books.

Demonstrating Progress

There is no formal assessment. You will, however, have the opportunity to do practice papers towards the end of each part of the course to identify your strengths and areas to work on. The teacher will continually assess your performance and progress based on class work and homework. On completion of the course, if you have attended at least 75% of the classes, you will receive a certificate and a report in which the teacher will comment on and grade your performance.
