About This Course

You will learn to operate effectively in English at work or in business by learning practical skills and language for the workplace.

Course Objectives

You will work towards the following learning outcomes:

  • participate actively and effectively in meetings
  • write clear and concise e-mails, letters and memos
  • write an email summarising action agreed in a meeting
  • listen to establish the gist and extract specific information
  • write a short report outlining options to solve a problem
  • extract selected specific information from a text
  • establish the gist of written texts
  • use diplomatic language when negotiating
  • deal with complaints
  • make a well-structured presentation

Course Content

The course book is Market Leader Intermediate (New Edition). Your teacher will select the most relevant material from the book and supplement it to make lessons relevant and stimulating.

Demonstrating Progress

You will take regular assessment tasks to evaluate your progress towards achieving the core learning objectives. Your teacher will also counsel you on your progress.

At the end of the WE6A and WE6B, you will receive a report on your progress and areas for improvement You will receive a certificate at the end of WE6B if you have attended at least 75% of the classes and satisfactorily completed all relevant assessments.
