About This Course

You will learn to operate effectively in English at work or in business by learning practical skills and language for the workplace.

Course Objectives

You will work towards the following learning outcomes:

  • make successful telephone calls
  • make a short presentation about your company
  • take part in a negotiation to reach agreement
  • complete a memo or message
  • write clear, concise, and accurate e-mails, memos and letters
  • establish the gist of texts
  • extract selected specific information from a written text
  • take part in meetings to decide on a course of action
  • clarify details by phone
  • deal with conflict through effective negotiating
  • make a short presentation
  • write a short report

Course Content

The course book is Market Leader Pre-Intermediate. Your teacher will select the most relevant material from the book and supplement it to make lessons relevant and stimulating.

Demonstrating Progress

You will take regular assessment tasks to evaluate your progress towards achieving the core learning objectives. Your teacher will also counsel you on your progress.

At the end of the WE5A and WE5B, you will receive a report on your progress and areas for improvement You will receive a certificate at the end of WE5B if you have attended at least 75% of the classes and satisfactorily completed all relevant assessments.
