About This Course
Develops your listening and speaking skills in a variety of situations while expanding your vocabulary and improving pronunciation.
Course Objectives

Listening
- listen for gist
- show interest when listening to someone speak.
- discriminate between similar sounds
- identify key words and phrases in the stream of speech
- understand the gist of advanced speech
- identify meaning from intonation and pace
- predict what people are going to talk about
- infer meaning of vocabulary from context
- use knowledge of weak forms and stress patterns to infer meaning
Course Content
The course book is Total English Upper Intermediate. Your teacher will select the most relevant material from the book and supplement it to make lessons relevant and stimulating.
Demonstrating Progress
Your teacher monitors your progress with speaking and listening tasks during the course.
You receive an attendance certificate when you have completed your first term, and a report when you have completed both Term A and Term B as well as a course completion certificate if you attend at least 75% of lessons and complete assessments successfully.
