If you want to improve the way you communicate at work, these 12 hour business skills modules will help you achieve your goal.
The eight modules offered come under two main streams - writing and speaking:
In the writing stream modules, you will:
- write a case study
- learn new phrases appropriate to the purpose of your writing
- critique model pieces of writing with your classmates
- review and improve your case study.
In the speaking stream modules, you will:
- practise new words and expressions to express yourself more accurately in specific situations
- improve on your pronunciation
- take part in simulations and role plays to use the new language introduced in the course.
The writing stream courses will help you improve your written communication style, taking into consideration your audience and situation. You will become more confident in writing accurately using appropriate language to convey your message clearly.
The speaking stream courses offer practical ways to enhance your oral communication so you feel more confident in sharing your opinions with colleagues and customers, both locally and abroad.
Your teacher monitors your progress during the course and will give you detailed feedback on tasks. After you complete a 12-hour module with a minimum of 75% attendance, you will qualify for a British Council attendance certificate.
To register for your first British Council adult course you will need to take a placement test to assess your current level of English. To join a business skills course, you need to be at intermediate level or above.
