Step 1 - Obtain general information on UK education

The British Council will be offering Form Five to Seven students a series of free seminars and events on overseas education, helping them to make wise decisions for their future after graduation.  

Seminars will cover:

  • advice on making the right choice of institution and course
  • tips on making a successful university application
  • latest student visa information
  • scholarships available for the 2009/10 academic year
  • suggestions on pre-departure preparation
  • opportunities to meet with UK education institutions  
  • and more!

Seats are allocated on first-come, first-served basis.

British Council 60th Anniversary Scholarships

Application deadline: 17 July 2009

We are delighted to launch a second round of the British Council 60th Anniversary Scholarships to give even more Hong Kong students the chance to experience a UK education. The scholarships to be awarded involve the waiving of tuition fees for one year of study in a school, college or university in the 2009-2010 academic year. Students with a range of talents (academic or non-academic) are welcome to apply.

Students looking to study in the UK in the coming academic year, or who are planning their applications for early deadlines for the next year, should not miss this opportunity to meet with representatives from UK institutions. There will be over 60 universities, colleges and schools participating, offering courses ranging from GCSEs to first degree and postgraduate options as well as UK courses that can be studied in Hong Kong.  There will also be a series of seminars held during the exhibition to help students and parents make more informed choices.  Seminar programmes, a full list of exhibitors, plus a course search listing places available for this September, and frequently asked questions, can be found at www.educationuk.org.hk/exhibition

Step 3 – Getting ready to depart

Pre-departure briefings

Information on visas, travel, accommodation, banking and other aspects of living in the UK will be covered.  Current UK students will also be available to share their experiences of studying and living in the UK.  Seats are available on a first-come-first-served basis. Reservation is not required.
