UK students funded by the Scholarships for Excellence will be supported through the following channels:

• a welcome reception with full cultural briefing on arrival hosted by the Director of British Council Hong Kong;
• an invitation to meet with members of the British Chamber of Commerce and British Consulate General;
• be informed about events via the British Council’s monthly newsletter – What's in it for you;
• opportunities to be volunteers in events organised by the British Council Hong Kong.  

A dedicated member of staff will act as your main contact point at the British Council Hong Kong.  You will have the chance to discuss any issues concerning your scholarship and life overseas and the officer will inform you of the value of your scholarship and allowances to which you are entitled to.

Welcome Reception for UK Students in HK

The British Council, the British Consulate-General and the British Chamber of Commerce organised a Welcome Reception for UK students in Hong Kong on 13 September 2006.

Over 50 UK students who are currently studying in Hong Kong eight local universities attended.  The British Chamber of Commerce invited the UK students to become members of the Young Executive Network while the British Council Hong Kong introduced them to the new Scholarships for Excellence Scheme.
