FameLab, part of the Science Alive programme, will be held for the 5th consecutive year in Hong Kong in February 2014!
The aim of FameLab is to encourage young scientists (18 to 35 years old) to inspire and excite public imagination with a vision of science in the 21st century.
Contestants have 3 minutes to accurately present a scientific topic to an audience and a panel of expert judges. The talk should be entertaining, original, and scientifically accurate but also engaging to a non-scientific audience. From the live auditions and video submissions, finalists will be chosen to compete in the Hong Kong Final at the Hong Kong Science Museum. But before then, they will participate in a mandatory two-day MasterClass on 22-23 February 2014 in Hong Kong, led by a team of UK and HK science communication experts.
The Grand Prize is an all-expenses-paid trip to the UK in June 2014 to represent Hong Kong in the FameLab International competition at the Cheltenham Science Festival.
