Shifting Perspective Exhibition
Down’s Syndrome Association

Exhibition period: 7 – 26 September 2010

Venue: 3/F British Council, 3 Supreme Court Road, Admiralty, Hong Kong

The British Council Hong Kong is hosting SHIFTING PERSPECTIVES, a photo exhibition in cooperation with the Nesbitt Centre Hong Kong and the Down's Syndrome Association in the UK.

SHIFTING PERSPECTIVES brings together the work of a group of photographers, all of whom have children or a relative with Down’s syndrome or Down’s syndrome themselves. The goal of SHIFTING PERSPECTIVES has always been to demonstrate that people with Down’s syndrome can and do lead rewarding and semi-independent lives through vibrant, thought provoking images. To ensure that the photographs continues to challenge attitudes and prejudices about people with the condition, each year SHIFTING PERSPECTIVES focuses on breaking down a different stereotype from race and religion to life opportunities.

The exhibition also highlights the British Council's commitment to diversity, diversity in the society in general as well as at the workplace.

This groundbreaking exhibition since 2005 has been changing the perceptions of people with Down’s syndrome and will continue to travel across the globe to raise awareness until 2013.
