Biography of Patrick Woodroffe
Patrick Woodroffe is an internationally recognized Lighting Designer working in the worlds of music, dance, fashion, art and architecture.
Woodroffe began his career in lighting in the mid Seventies working primarily with Rock and Roll groups in Europe.In 1980 he moved to the United States and for the next five years lit shows for various artists including Cher, Raquel Welch and Donna Summer in Las Vegas, as well as touring productions for Rod Stewart, Earth, Wind and Fire, Robert Palmer and ABBA, for whom he lit their last concert appearance at the Budokan in Tokyo in 1980. Woodroffe returned to the UK in 1985, lighting many of the seminal names in the rock world. These include among others, groups and singers as diverse as Ozzy Osbourne, Bob Dylan, The Police, Take That, Peter Gabriel, Simon and Garfunkel, Elton John, Genesis, Stevie Wonder, Sarah Brightman and The Bee Gees.
