Performing arts is one of the most vibrant art forms in the UK. Year after year, thousands of UK productions tour the world and appear in UK and international arts festivals. While not everyone can afford the time or has the knowledge to pick high quality shows of relevance from the multitude of performances, the British Council in Hong Kong strives to bring the best performing groups to audiences in Hong Kong and to facilitate Hong Kong artists and residents in exchanges with their cultural counterparts in the UK.
The British Council has collaborated with the Hong Kong Arts Festival since the 1980s to showcase the finest of UK contemporary performing arts:
The British Council also supports the Festival Plus programme. This year, the Council has brought together specialists from the diverse UK representation at the 2009 Festival to offer you exclusive moments with Tim Crouch, Akram Khan, and artists from the Theatre Royal Bath and English National Ballet.
