Hong Kong

We will be collecting applications from Hong Kong as well as from the UK from 12 October to 10 December 2006. The first round selection process will be conducted in accordance to the judging criteria by the British Council, Hong Kong Cyberport, Junior Chamber International Hong Kong as well as industry practitioner Vernie Yeung from 11 to 31 December 2006. Shortlisted applicants will be invited to interviews with the distinguished judging panel in the week of 8 January 2007. The six Digital Pioneers (three from Hong Kong, three from the UK) will be formally announced at the Digital Entertainment Leadership Forum on 21 March 2007. The three Hong Kong Digital Pioneers will embark on their first 10-day trip to the UK with the programme in late March 2006 to meet with industry professionals and their assigned mentors. From then to the end of 2007, the Digital Pioneers will receive guidance from their assigned mentors on their professional development and will visit the UK for the second time with the programme to work in a creative company that the programme has assigned them to as advised by their mentors.

UK

The selection process will be synchronised with Hong Kong’s. Potential Digital Pioneers will be interviewed by the UK judging panel, and the selected three will visit Hong Kong in mid March 2007 (professional visits and award ceremony) and once again in the calendar year 2007 to be placed at a creative company in Hong Kong arranged by/with their assigned mentors in Hong Kong.
