FAQs

What educational qualifications do I need to participate in Digital Pioneers?

Candidates are expected to be proficient in the English language. It is desirable, though not essential, that they have attained higher education in the domains of their creative interests.
How many years of work experience do I need?
We do not ask for a particular number of years of work experience but we do ask that you are currently not in school full-time. Preferably, applicants are currently employed in established practices and have responsibilities in the area of content creation in any digital medium. Young entrepreneurs who run their own business in digital works on both a large or small scale are also encouraged to apply. If you are currently working in a sector that has no direct linkage to digital entertainment and media, we ask that you provide evidence of content that you’ve created in your spare time or as a freelancer and that you demonstrate a keen interest with solid business planning to get into the digital media and entertainment industry.
Is there room for flexibility in the age criteria?
Applicants have to be strictly between 21 to 35 on or before 30 November 2006.
On what parameters will the applicants be short-listed?
Vision for international collaboration and exchange, potential leadership, knowledge of the sector and evidence of creative endeavours in the digital entertainment and media industry.
I am working in Hong Kong but I have not attained permanent residency, can I apply?
Yes, as long as you can provide evidence that you are legally employed in Hong Kong and that you have valid travel documents that would allow you to travel to the UK.
