British designers are recognised worldwide for their expertise and individuality. Under the project name DesignUK, the British Council, UK Trade & Industry and the British Consulate in Hong Kong organised a series of events in November 2006 to celebrate the innovative and enterprising creativity of British talent.

The month-long series of events included practical workshops and conferences; a lighting installation, a fashion show, a touring exhibition of leading British design talent and an award-winning design entrepreneurs exhibition; trade missions and showcases for British products, as well as several networking and social receptions to bring together international and local guests.
