UK Bands line-up:

Bombay Bicycle Club

Bombay Bicycle Club are an English indie rock and folk band from Crouch End, London. The band comprises: Jack Steadman (lead vocals, guitar), Jamie MacColl (guitar), Ed Nash (bass) and Suren de Saram (drums).

The band played at the opening performance of 2006's V Festival after winning Channel 4's "Road to V" competition. Following the release of two EPs and their debut single Evening/Morning, the band recorded their debut album, I Had the Blues but I Shook Them Loose. The album was released on 6 July 2009.

Luke Vibert (AKA Wagon Christ)

Vibert's first musical output was in a variety of bands, including a punk act called Five Minute Fashion and later a Beastie Boys-influenced group called the Hate Brothers, but he quickly moved into the low-cost environment of solo electronic composition. Although Vibert originally had no intention of releasing any music, his reputation as a creative young voice in his field created a demand for his work.

Vibert originally became involved in electronic music through his interest in hip-hop, as well as through the environment of bedroom experimentalism associated with the growing late 1980s UK dance scene. Luke and a friend, Jeremy Simmonds, released an album through the Rephlex label under the name of Vibert/Simmonds, which attracted the attention of Caspar Pound's music label, Rising High. As a result of the popularity of the style in the early 90's, the label commissioned an ambient music album from Vibert, who delivered the well-received Phat Lab Nightmare under the alias Wagon Christ in 1994.  His first solo release as Wagon Christ was in 1994 when he contributed the track 'Gas Fish' to the Volume 9 compilation.

Since then, Luke has recorded for Rephlex, Ninja Tune, Virgin/Astralwerks, Law & Auder, Rising High, Blue Planet/Blue Angel, Nothing, Cooking Vinyl, Planet Mu, Electro Bunker Cologne, Mo' Wax, and his work has appeared on many compilations on numerous other labels.

The Cribs

Christmas 2003, and The Cribs, twins Ryan and Gary Jarman, along with younger brother Ross, first made an impact. Along with contemporaries The Libertines and Razorlight they went on to define a burgeoning new scene.

Signed to Wichita Recordings, The Cribs polarised opinions - those who loved them did so with a reverence bordering on infatuation whilst others saw them as a flash in the pan.  They are still going strong.

Their debut LP The Cribs was the Wakefield trio’s take on Britain's early 21st century fascination with the  new wave and post punk movements.  The follow-up album was The New Fellas with chart-busting single Hey Scenesters played in indie discos from Manchester to Mexico.  Men's Needs, Women's Needs, Whatever followed in 2007 before a chance meeting with Johnny Marr (ex-The Smiths) led to the legendary guitarist joining the band for three years. This resulted in the 2009 Top Ten LP Ignore The Ignorant, which cemented the band's position as UK musical heavyweights.

Marr is no longer a full time member of the group, though the act continue to earn rave reviews with every show they play.  They have toured with a variety of bands from The Strokes to Kaiser Chiefs and Bloc Party, and have played at nearly every major music event there is worldwide.

Benjamin Francis Leftwich

Benjamin Francis Leftwich is an English singer-songwriter from York. Leftwich's debut album, the Ian Grimble-produced Last Smoke Before The Snowstorm, was released in July 2011. The Fly called it "a majestic debut" whilst The Sunday Times cited Leftwich as "a serious new talent".
Chad Valley

Chad Valley, also known as Hugo Manuel, is the Balearic-inspired vocalist of Oxford's Jonquil and founder member of the Blessing Force collective.

Taking a more electronic approach to sunset vibes, Hugo has already played in Dublin, Amsterdam, Paris, Budapest, Belgrade and Istanbul, achieved critical acclaim at In The City and Great Escape, and supported  Amiina, Twin Shadow and Foals. His work has been ubiquitous on music blogs, from Gorilla vs. Bear to Pitchfork's Forkcast, and as a remixer he has also found success with rerubs for The Go Team, Fixers, Harrys Gym, The Drums, The Touch, Sound Of Arrows, Alice Gold and CSS.

His debut single Up and Down, released last winter, enjoyed a large amount of airplay by BBC Radio 1 DJs including Zane, Annie Mac, Nick Grimshaw as well as Huw Stephens. The track was reprised this autumn as part of the BBC Introducing playlist. In the interim he has enjoyed daytime airplay across the BBC network for subsequent singles Now That I'm Real and Shell Suite with the former performing particularly well in the US thanks to influential radio stations such as KEXP and KCRW.

Chad Valley's debut EP arrived in November 2010 via Service's US imprint Cascine and French label Maman in Europe. The follow up Equatorial Ultravox was released in June through Co-Op in Europe, Rallye in Japan and again with Cascine in the US. A busy autumn sees Chad Valley undertaking a full UK tour with Friendly Fires as well as his first dates in the Far East, including supporting Friendly Fires in Japan, and a number of festival appearances in Hong Kong and Singapore.
