We provide information about the British Council and its programs and activities. If we are unable to provide you with information directly then we can guide you to the correct enquiry point. We also provide several other specific services including the List of Travellers scheme.
Our staff are trained in the use of plain English and we aim to make the information we provide as clear as possible. We are also able to provide information in special formats, such as Braille, if this is needed.
We do not charge you to use the information centre's services. The only costs you will incur will be the cost of your chosen communication method. Please note that some of the programs and services we give information on may have a cost involved.
The British Council Information Centre costs £271,000 to run per year. This includes a £21,000 operational budget and £250,000 staffing costs. The staffing costs cover the Information Centre Manager, 3 Enquiries Officers and 7 Enquiries Assistants. You can find out about how the British Council is funded here
