British Council Scotland aims to connect Scotland and the world, working with the arts, education, governance and science sectors.  

Our Edinburgh office has sixty staff working across a range of projects in Scotland and beyond. Most of the staff in the Scotland office, including these posts, are part of the UK-wide Contracts and Projects Delivery team (C&P).

Contract & Projects Delivery (C&P) is the UK resource within the British Council global team for the delivery of all operational projects and contract management. C&P has over 350 staff across the UK and aims to provide programme and project management services to a wide range of clients. To achieve its aim the department has a strategy to develop flexible and skilled project management professionals. This means enabling our staff to work on a range of activity including Science, Youth, Governance, Schools, Higher Education, Vocational Education and Training and Sports by building on their current experience and developing new capabilities. Staff also work in areas including Systems and Processes, Promotions and Marketing and Training and Professional Development.

We are looking for candidates interested in developing their project management skills across a range of sectors. These posts will work on delivering projects managed by the British Council Scotland office, including

  • Comenius, which supports and funds a range of cross-curricular projects and professional development opportunities for schools across Europe
  • International cultural relations projects, including a season of events promoting links between Scotland and India, and study visits to Scotland by international policy-makers
  • IAESTE, an international training exchange programme for higher education students

We will place successful candidates with projects where we have a vacancy at the time of recruitment.  Candidates can expect to work across a range of different projects and sectors.
