Our Edinburgh office has sixty staff working across a range of projects in Scotland and beyond. Most of the staff in the Scotland office, including these posts, are part of the UK-wide Contracts and Projects Delivery team (C&P).
Contract & Projects Delivery (C&P) is the UK resource within the British Council global team for the delivery of all operational projects and contract management. C&P has over 350 staff across the UK and aims to provide programme and project management services to a wide range of clients. To achieve its aim the department has a strategy to develop flexible and skilled project management professionals. This means enabling our staff to work on a range of activity including Science, Youth, Governance, Schools, Higher Education, Vocational Education and Training and Sports by building on their current experience and developing new capabilities. Staff also work in areas including Systems and Processes, Promotions and Marketing and Training and Professional Development.
British Council Scotland has a vacancy for a member of staff to work in the Education UK Scotland team. This will involve managing the delivery of a range of projects to promote Scotland’s unique education offering overseas. You will also work with Scottish education providers to target agreed international priority markets with specific lead responsibility for developing and delivering activity in two or three of those markets. Projects will include education missions, seminars in Scotland and promotional campaigns.
Education UK Scotland is funded by the college and university sectors in Scotland, British Council Scotland and the Scottish Government, and works to complement the services offered by the Education UK Partnership and Education UK Marketing.
We are looking for candidates who have strong project management skills, have a good understanding of the UK Higher and Further education system and the ability to learn rapidly about Scotland’s distinctive education system. Previous knowledge of the Scottish Higher and Further education system and expertise in international marketing would be desirable. There will be some unsocial hours working on evenings and at weekends, as well as some travel (both UK & overseas).
