Welcome to the British Council Greece's latest edition of Talking English - our bi-monthly newsletter for English language teachers.

Our aim is to help you keep up to date with global ELT news and local events organised by the British Council. Find links to useful websites and articles, online teaching resources, and details of events and training opportunities in Greece.

 JOIN THE SEETA ONLINE COMMUNITY!
SEETA is an online community of eleven Teachers' Associations in South East Europe run by volunteers. Take part in online events and discussions, and share information with teachers from all over the region. Forthcoming online guests include Scott Thornbury. Cardiff Online 2009 was a huge success, attracting thousands of people, and it’s going to be open for a few more months. You can join the discussions, watch the videos, read the roving reporters' blogs, download resources, enjoy the lovely photos, and get ready for 2010 Harrogate Online!
 Teaching kids on TeachingEnglish
This part of the Teaching English site offers lots of tips and resources for using materials from the British Council's LearnEnglish Kids website. Most of the materials can be used either online or printed off to be used in the classroom. Food, the body, weather, school and so much more. Visit!

Do you ever use YouTube for teaching? At TEFLclips you'll find lesson plans with wonderful teaching ideas to make the most of YouTube videos. The Clips bank offers useful videos, and the How to section has top tips and help. Check out Lesson 22 if cats are your thing!
 Pictures and words - and sounds...
LCF's PhonicsZone for EFL students is a free web-based collection of interactive activities supporting the learning of English phonetics - from learning and recognising sounds and letters, to practising multiple possible spellings of sounds. It includes downloadable flashcards and mini-tests to print, and has a useful Teacher Tools section.
