Welcome to the British Council Greece's latest edition of Talking English - our bi-monthly newsletter for English language teachers.

Our aim is to help you keep up to date with global ELT news and local events organised by the British Council. Find links to useful websites and articles, online teaching resources, and details of events and training opportunities in Greece.

FESTIVE FUN

Lots of fun Christmas activities on LearnEnglish Kids and LearnEnglish Central to share with your students - games, songs, stories and much more. Don't miss the tips on using resources about Christmas and Christmas presents, and wish your friends and family a Merry Christmas by sending them our festive e-card.

LearnEnglish Podcasts

Get your students to practise their English during the Christmas break in a fun way with the British Council's LearnEnglish Podcasts - they can listen on their computer or download them to their mp3 players. They're free and there's something for everyone!

ABCya!

If you'd like to help young children learn basic computer skills, check out ABCya! They offer loads of free online educational and interactive games and activities. Math bingo, Henry and The Sugarbuds, Friendly letter maker, Food pyramid trip and lots more fun for the kids!

Clueless? The new series of Keep Your English Up To Date features words and expressions, chosen by Gavin Dudeney, that have recently made it into the English language. The series includes the text and audio of the talk by Gavin. Stay tuned!
