Ιn collaboration with the International Olympic Truce Centre and the British Embassy, we're pleased to announce a series of educational programmes in the towns along the route of the Olympic Torch Relay.

Between 10 and 17 May 2012 the Olympic Flame will travel 3,000 km and 350 nautical miles, passing through 45 cities and staying overnight in 7 of them. The British Council team will follow the flame from Ancient Olympia to Thessaloniki and from Crete to Serres, delivering educational programmes to schools along the way, including the Imagine Peace workshop and the teaching of the Big Dance dance sequence.

The Olympic Torch will be delivered to the British team at the Panathenaic Stadium on the 17 May and it will then continue its journey to the UK, where it will travel to more than 1,000 cities and villages, making stops at points of historical, cultural and athletic importance such as Nottingham Castle, the University of Cambridge, Salisbury cathedral and Wimbledon, the home of the All England Lawn Tennis Club.
