TWICE A STRANGER

Join us at the Twice a Stranger storytelling activity, which is part of the Twice a Stranger Exhibition, produced by Anemon Productions and co-organised by Oxford University (Refugee Studies Center), the Leventis Museum, the Benaki Museum and Bilgi University.

The project is supported by the Culture Programme of the European Union and the Goethe Institut and consists of three parts:

Creation of a story about the personal experience of a Greek and a Turk who left their homeland in 1922. In collaboration with UK company Storyspinner and UK storyteller Anna Conomos, Summer 2011, UK

Workshop, Autumn 2011, Athens

  • Part I: workshop to help Greek drama students create their own story
  • Part II: video taping of the story created by Anna Conomos with Greek and Turkish storytellers. Creation of a three language DVD (English, Greek, Turkish) to be ready in February 2012

Live storytelling event in October 2012

The DVD of the storyteller narrating the story will be screened at the exhibition in all three countries.

The Twice a Stranger Exhibition, will take place at Bilgi University in Istanbul (February–May 2012), at the Leventis Museum (June–July 2012) and at the Benaki Museum (September–November 2012).
