In collaboration with Intelligence Squared Greece (IQ2) we're proud to present a lively debate on the new university reform. But what do we already know or need to find out about the reform in order to form our own opinion?
Education is the foundation of our society. At a time when Greece is facing a financial and social crisis, the education system has the capacity to influence our future in a unique way. It can shape citizens, workers, politicians, artists, journalists and the parents of tomorrow.
Can the reform radically alter university education in Greece or is it just a half-measure that won't achieve much? Will it modernise the system or destroy everything the university community has built up over the years? Will it nurture critical thinking and the skills necessary to compete in the global employment market? Or will it undermine academic freedom and the democratic principles of education?
So, come along to this discussion and draw your own conclusions!
