INTERCULTURAL EDUCATION CONFERENCE

We are delighted to support the international conference Intercultural Education: Paideia, Polity, Demoi, which brings together an international network of professional educators interested in diversity and equity issues in education.

The conference is being jointly organised by the International Association for Intercultural Education (IAIE) and the Hellenic Migration Policy Institute (IMEPO), in collaboration with the International Association for the Study of Cooperation in Education (IASCE) and the Department of Early Childhood Education of the University of Western Macedonia.

The conference is divided into two sections:

pre-conference workshops for teachers (early childhood, primary, secondary) aimed at training them in the use of new techniques in intercultural co-operative learning and in the teaching of a foreign/second language
presentations, panel discussions and symposia.

SPEAKERS
Confirmed keynote speakers include:

James A. Banks
Kerry and Linda Killinger Professor of Diversity Studies and Founding Director, Center for Multicultural Education, University of Washington, Seattle, USA.
Jagdish Singh Gundara
Emeritus Professor of Education, University of London Institute of Education, Head of the International Centre for Intercultural Studies, UNESCO Chair in Intercultural Studies and Teacher Education, President of the IAIE, UK.

As part of our contribution to the Conference, the programme includes a Digital Story Telling Workshop, open to the conference’s attendees following registration.
