INDIE (INCLUSION & DIVERSITY IN EDUCATION)

Our INDIE (Inclusion and Diversity in Education) project aims to promote social cohesion and raise educational standards in culturally inclusive schools. It is run in collaboration with education authorities from nine EU Member States: Belgium, Germany, Greece, Italy, Malta, the Netherlands, Portugal, Spain and the United Kingdom.

Diversity acknowledges that there are differences between people of different cultures, different physical appearance, different beliefs and values, different sexual orientation and more. INDIE is about acknowledging and respecting these differences even if your own personal views on these subjects are not the same.

Through INDIE we build lasting networks focusing on the common challenges presented by migration and cultural diversity to school education. What is unique about INDIE is that we bring together pupils, head teachers and policy makers to discuss and agree together how inclusion and diversity in schools can best be managed and to implement school-based projects which will set best practice standards in the field.
