SUNDAY MORNINGS

DISCOVERING THE WONDERFUL WORLD OF SCIENCE

The Sunday Mornings programme of events we are organising in collaboration with the National Hellenic Research Foundation is a series of interactive theatre activities and experiments aimed at communicating the beauty and power of scientific thought to the general public so that they can unlock its secrets.

Our Sunday Mornings events are designed for primary and high school students and will give participants the opportunity to carry out simple physics, chemistry and biology experiments and meet scientists and science communicators who will show that specialised scientific knowledge is accessible to all.

Professor Frank Burnet, the Greek FameLab team, a group of young researchers from the Institute of Sciences at the National Hellenic Research Foundation, the National Documentation Centre, the Athens Technological Institute, Αnachem Diagnostics, Ionideios School, the '2Act' group along with a group of students from the IDEA private school in Argolida, will help us understand the applications of science in our daily life.

The programme includes the following events:

FameLab Competition 2010 Qualifying Round
Athens: 29 April 2010
FameLab Competition 2010 Grand Final
Athens: 17 May 2010
Communicating Science: Why and how to take science directly to people
Athens: 30 May 2010

Full Programme (MS Word, 1 MB)
