EARTHQUAKE ENGINEERING WORKSHOP

A pilot three-day multilateral workshop for university students will be held at the National Technical University of Athens, where practices and ideas on the issue of earthquakes will be exchanged through the design, construction and testing of models by the students themselves. The workshop aims to inspire students’ interest and creativity in structural engineering and buildings.

During the workshop there will be a competition of 10 mixed teams from Greece, Turkey and the UK. Each team will construct its own model according to provided specifications. All qualifying models will be tested on a shaking table. The most efficient model system will win the competition.
