GREEN TOURISM

The newly established non-profit organisation International Environmental Institute for Hospitality and Tourism (IEIHT), in co-operation with the British Council, is organising its first event in Greece on the theme of Green Tourism: Revisiting the Impact of Tourism on the Environment.

The aim of the event is to examine the factors that need to be taken into account in order to achieve a 'greener' form of tourism, one which shows greater respect for the environment, as well as to look at the need for awareness-raising among professionals working in the tourist industry and governments, and among the broader population.
