Don’t miss the sixth consecutive year of our FameLab Competition! WHAT IS FAMELAB? Originally created by the UK’s Cheltenham Science Festival, the idea behind the competition is to take science out of the classroom and make it fun, and to encourage young people with a passion for science and technology to share their enthusiasm with the general public. Following the huge success of the UK FameLab, which took place in 2005, the competition has spread around the world. The British Council now organises FameLab in an ever-increading number of countries. In 2012 it will take place in 20 countries: Austria, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Egypt, Germany, Greece, Hong Kong, Israel, Italy, Lithuania, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Serbia, South Africa, Switzerland, UK and USA. Ιn the US, FameLab was organised by NASA while the semi-final of the Swiss FameLab took place at CERN! The aim of FameLab is to encourage young scientists to inspire and excite public imagination with a vision of science in the 21st century. We are searching for the new faces of science in Greece, people who are able to develop their ideas and presentation skills for a non-specialist audience.
