The British Council and the Greek General Secretariat for Research and Technology (GSRT) are pleased to announce the results of the call for applications for jointly-funded research programmes for the period 2006–08 in Environmental Aspects of Water Engineering.
The programmes provide funding from April 2006 for travel and operational costs between the two countries in the context of approved projects of duration up to two years.
Complete and documented applications from interested collaborators from both countries must be submitted jointly on bilingual application forms. The deadline for the submission of applications was 31 January 2006.
These are jointly-funded bilateral collaborative research programmes lasting up to two years with possibility of a third-year extension. There are two main Greek co-sponsors:
The GSRT programmes are open to all Greek researchers regardless of institutional affiliation. NAGREF programmes are open only to their own respective academic and research staff. There are no restrictions on the institutional affiliation of the British researchers.
Announcements of these programmes usually appear in the May to September period for projects to be funded from April of the following year.
In many cases it is desirable for all prospective partners in a proposal to the Commission of the EU to meet for a few days, prepare together the final draft, and consider details of scope and presentation which are important to the Commission.
We at the British Council in Greece can often offer financial support for travel costs in order to enable partners to meet in Greece or in Britain or occasionally, in a third participating country.
British researchers interested in such meetings should ask their Greek prospective partner for a meeting to discuss the specific proposal. The above schemes refer to collaborative research programmes in Science and Technology.
Please note that financial support is not available for exchange students whether undergraduate or postgraduate, nor for financial supplement of existing support for EU student programmes.
