IELTS is trusted and accepted by over 6,000 organisations and faculties worldwide across different sectors.
IELTS is recognised all over the world. It is accepted by educational institutions in the United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand, Canada and increasingly in European neighbours such as Germany, the Netherlands, Sweden and Belgium, as well as many other countries as evidence of the required language skills. Additionally, over 3,000 institutions and programmes in the USA also welcome IELTS scores for admission purposes, including all the Ivy League colleges. Many other organisations around the world use IELTS scores for a range of purposes, including immigration, recruitment, professional registration and entry to training courses.
In Greece, leading educational institutions, private employers and government agencies, including ASEP, recognise IELTS scores as a trusted and valid indicator of ability to communicate in English.
You can search for recognising organisations with the Global Recognition System, an interactive tool designed to help you find educational institutions, professional organisations, employers and government agencies around the world that recognise IELTS. You can also use the tool to check organisations' minimum IELTS requirements.
As a general rule it is recommended that a Test Report Form that is more than two years old should only be accepted as evidence of present level of ability if accompanied by a proof that a candidate has actively maintained or tried to improve their level of English language proficiency. Test Report Forms will not be issued for tests taken more than two years ago.
