IELTS TEST RESULTS
International English Language Testing System (IELTS)
Results are issued on the 13th day after the day of the test. All candidates will receive one copy of the Test Report Form.
Results are also available online after 1200 midday on the 13th day after the day of the test. Please visit:
https://ielts.britishcouncil.org/CheckResults.aspx
If you'd like to receive your result by SMS, please complete the form provided on the test day.
Test centres are not permitted to give results over the phone, by fax or e-mail.
Replacement Test Report Forms are not provided in case of loss.
The IELTS test partners recommend that receiving organisations do not accept a Test Report Form that is more than two years old. For this reason, Test Report Forms will not be issued for tests taken more than two years ago. A receiving organisation may choose to accept an older Test Report Form if a candidate can provide evidence that they have actively maintained or tried to improve their English language proficiency since doing the test. However, this is a decision made at the discretion of the receiving organisation, not the IELTS test partners. The IELTS partners cannot provide any letters or references endorsing a candidate’s level of English.
To find out about the test scores, the band descriptors and to see a sample of the Test Report Form, visit Understand your IELTS scores, IELTS band descriptors, Overall band scores explained and IELTS test report form on the IELTS website.
You can search for recognising organisations with the Global Recognition System, an interactive tool designed to help you find educational institutions, professional organisations, employers and government agencies around the world that recognise IELTS. You can also use the tool to check organisations' minimum IELTS requirements.
If you’d like to learn how IELTS scores relate to the Council of Europe’s (COE) Common European Framework (CEF) levels, download the COE Flyer (PDF, 205 KB).

ADDITIONAL COPIES OF THE TEST REPORT FORM

If you'd like your results – up to a maximum of five (5) copies – to be sent to universities or other educational institutions, please include the relevant addresses when you register and we will send a copy of your Test Report Form by ordinary mail.
You can apply to the centre where you took the test for verified photocopies of the Test Report Form for a period of two years.
Additional original copies can only be sent to receiving institutions (i.e. universities, immigration officers, etc.) and only by ordinary mail. A small administrative fee may be charged.
Receiving institutions can also view candidates score through the online IELTS verification service, provided that they have the candidate’s Test Report Form (TRF) number.

ENQUIRY ON RESULTS SERVICE

If you are dissatisfied with your results, you may apply for an Enquiry on Results. This must be done within 6 weeks of the test date. You can choose which modules are re-marked. There is a fee for this service which will be refunded should the score on any module change. Enquiry on Results can take up to 7 weeks to complete.
