You can now easily submit your application documents electronically. Please scan each of the following documents as .jpeg files:
- two (2) recent passport type photographs
Please note that photographs must be passport type, no more than 6 months old, be taken against a plain background, show the candidate with a neutral expression, with mouth closed and no glasses. Photos must be scanned in full colour.
- a photocopy of your passport or National ID (EU citizens only)
NB: you have to provide the same document on the day of the examination
- proof of your payment
You must send us the deposit slip as described in step 5

Important:
- write in the subject area your full name and the date of the session you have chosen
- use this format for saving the files: (name)_(familyname)_(session date).jpg
Alternatively, you can send your application documents by post, to the centre through which you will be taking the IELTS (Athens or Thessaloniki - see below for contact details). If posting documents we recommend that you use an express postal service to ensure that they arrive on time.
We must receive your application documents within 5 working days. Make sure you submit the required documents within 5 working days after your online registration to avoid cancellation.

IELTS is enhancing its security systems in order to keep pace with evolving technology. With 20 years' development, IELTS is recognised for its integrity, fairness and authority by up to 7,000 receiving organisations worldwide. Test Day Photography reflects IELTS strategy of continued test service improvement as well as security enhancement. IELTS test day staff will capture a passport style photograph of candidates on the test day and verify the correct identity of the candidates throughout the IELTS testing process. The photo captured on the test day will appear on the candidate Test Report Form. Please be aware that this procedure is mandatory for all test takers. For candidates under 18 years of age it is important that their parents/legal guardians read and sign the Informed Consent Form for IELTS Test Day Photography and Verification Process (PDF, 25 KB). The signed consent form must be submitted with the candidates’ application form and supporting documentation. |
Please note:
- The Speaking Test may be scheduled up to seven days before or after the written parts of the test. The exact date and time of the Speaking Test will be shown on each candidate's personal timetable. Timetables are sent by e-mail approximately one week before the date of the Speaking Test to the e-mail address provided on the online application.
Speaking Tests for area will be scheduled the week before the date of the written parts of the test (between 1000 and 2100).
Speaking Tests for area will be scheduled after 1300 on the date of the written parts of the test (between 1300 and 2000).
Candidates must include the in their postal address when completing the online registration form.
- If you would like your results – up to a maximum of five (5) copies – to be sent to universities or other educational institutions, please enter the relevant addresses in the appropriate fields on the online registration form.
- IELTS is not recommended for candidates under the age of 16.
