Cambridge ESOL exams assess the ability to communicate effectively in English in realistic situations and cover all four language skills – speaking, listening, reading and writing – so that they provide ideal preparation for students who wish to study in an English-speaking environment. By studying for a Cambridge ESOL examination, you develop the skills you will actually need to make practical use of English, whether in education, business or social life.
You probably know about recognition in Greece, but did you know that the Cambridge ESOL exams are formally recognised by universities and other institutions as well as by employers throughout the European Union and the English-speaking world and in many other countries?
Every year thousands of Greek students study at universities in the United Kingdom, the United States of America and Australia. Universities in the UK generally accept the Certificate of Proficiency (CPE), the Certificate in Advanced English (CAE) or an International English Language Testing System (IELTS) score of 6.0 as evidence that the holder has the language skills they need for matriculation onto courses which are taught in English.
Recognition by universities is spreading very quickly in the United States, where universities and colleges are added to the list virtually every week, and in Australia, where Cambridge ESOL’s close co-operation with Australian universities has greatly facilitated recognition. Cambridge ESOL has also published extensive lists of recognition by educational institutions in France, Italy, Spain, Germany and many other countries.
