BRITISH COUNCIL ATTACHED CENTRES

An educational organisation that wishes to be certified as British Council Attached Centre has to meet the range of criteria and requirements set by CIE.

The British Council assesses the suitability of staff, premises, resources and procedures on behalf of CIE before registering an educational organisation as an Attached Centre for Cambridge International Diplomas.

Attached Centre status is granted for one year from the date of approval of an application. Centres must apply for re-registration each year and be available for an inspection if necessary.

An inspection will be made to your educational organisation by CIE representatives in order to confirm that all the requirements are met.

Requirements concerning examinations rooms

Safety and security of examinations rooms
External noise
Lighting
Ventilation/heating
Spacious examinations rooms
Clock
Waiting area

Requirements concerning ICT Starters, the Diploma in IT Skills and the Diploma in ICT

At least one classroom with 8 PCs
PCs must be at least Pentium III
PCs should have RAM 256 MB
PCs should be connected to a local network, and a printer (network or local) and have access to the Internet.
For the Diploma in IT Skills the English Version of the following software is required:
Windows 98 or 2000 or XP
Microsoft Office (professional edition) 2000 or XP
