BIOS and the British Council present Modern Pioneers, a month of British innovation. The festival focuses on Street Culture, featuring live hip-hop and DJ sets; New Screen, showcasing the most influential and creative UK music videos; and Resonance FM, London’s first radio art station.

Antenna: a British Council-curated programme of music videos showcasing the latest in audiovisual innovation from the UK. Directors and music video creators are featured in each screening to discuss their work in further detail.

Resonance FM: the radio station which broadcasts programmes by musicians, artists and critics illustrating the diversity and multicultural aspect of contemporary London. Resonance FM will come to Athens for a day and broadcast from BIOS.

And live appearances by:

David Holmes (DJ Set): though lacking any formal music education, as a DJ David Holmes is expert at selecting the right music at the right time. He is an in-demand producer and re-mixer for high profile bands including U2, Manic Street Preachers and Primal Scream.

Killa Kela (live set): one of the most original British hip-hop artists, Killa Kela produces sounds with his mouth using the beat-boxing technique.

DJ Vadim (live set): musician and radio producer, dj, promoter, record collector, writer and painter, Vadim Peare is one of the most significant figures in British hip-hop.
Friday 23 December 2005

Hexstatic (live set): audio-visual artists from London, Stuart Warren Hill and Robin Brunson combine music and visuals.

Luke Vibert (live set): exploits vintage musical instruments such as those made by Robert Moog in the 60s and 70s.
