AND THE WINNERS ARE ...

Our innovative Manga Shakespeare Comics Competition has now come to a close. We received 44 valid entries from all over Greece and the very high standard of the artwork submitted made the selection process particularly difficult.

The panel of judges – Emma Hayley (Director SelfMadeHero), Aggelos Mastorakis (Chief Editor of Eleftherotypia's comics supplement ENNEA) and Giorgos Botsos (comics author and director of the Sketch, Comics and Cartoon programme at AKTO) – have now completed their assessment of the entries and selected the winner and the five runners-up.

The first prize goes to:

  • Sofia Vini for her excellent work on Romeo and Juliet (the balcony scene).

The next five best entrants awarded a distinction are:

  • Evangelia Mori for her work on the fight scene from Romeo and Juliet.
  • Lydia Stivakti for her work on the three witches scene from Macbeth.
  • Evgenia Koumaki for her work on the balcony scene from Romeo and Juliet.
  • Konstantinos Vasiliadis for his work on the transformation of Bottom scene from A Midsummer Night’s Dream.
